First of all, if you are looking at this page because you have just become engaged, congratulations!

It is always a joy to have weddings in our church and we would be delighted if you would like to come to us for you wedding. There are some legal matters which we have to check. To marry in the Church of England you must either live in the parish, in our case, Withycombe Raleigh with Exmouth (a search of the website “a church near you” will show you in which parish you live) or have a connection with the parish. The rules for this can be a bit complicated, so it is best if you contact us if you would like to get married here. Once we’ve established that you have a connection, we will meet to pick a date, help you to plan the service in church, choose reading(s) hymns and music, collect your details for the registers and your marriage certificate, check you I.D. and a little marriage preparation which is a relaxed chat about marriage as a life-long relationship, and any help we can offer after many years of happy married life. There are, of course, fees for the different aspects of the service, some are optional, others are statutory. A list of fees is available on request.

If you have any enquiries about Church marriage or would like to discuss the possibility of your wedding in church, please contact:
Fr. Robert Sellers
Rector of Withycombe Raleigh with Exmouth
